Davis, Gerald (21 September 1894 - 3 July 1960)

 

Gerald Davis, 65, of Rt. 3, Neillsville, died Sunday morning at the Memorial Hospital following a lingering illness,  He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Davis, and was born September 21, 1894, in Marathon County.  When he was a small boy his family moved to Chili, where he received his education.  He served in World War I.  Sometime after the death of his first wife, Alice, he was married to Eurma Bruhn in Marshfield.  They farmed in the Town of Seif until 1941, when they moved onto their present farm in the Town of Washburn.

 

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife; a son, Sherman Davis of Chippewa Falls; and four daughters, Mrs. Gerhardt Foemmel of Neillsville, Mrs. Raymond Cote of Milwaukee, Mrs. Leo Riedl of Jefferson, and Mrs. Robert Sebesta of Neillsville.  He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Homer Wilcox of Cattaraugus, N. Y. and a brother, Irving Davis of Chili.

 

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Bergemann Funeral Home, with the Rev. Frank B. Harcey officiating.  Burial was made in the Yolo Cemetery at Chili.
