York Township (14 July 1960)

Mr. and Mrs. William Eibergen of York Center and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hales of Wisconsin Rapids are on a five-week auto trip to the west coast.  They planned to visit Diana Eibergen at San Francisco, Calif., and with other friends there.  Their tour was planned to take them to a number of national parks. They plan to return in August.

Mrs. Louis Walter is scheduled to entertain the Sew and So Homemakers Club this (Thursday) evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarion Counsell of Grant visited Mr. and Mrs. Milford Rowe Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Baumann of Harvard, Ill., visited former neighbors in York last Thursday and Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard DeMert and family of Footville and Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Meyer and Mark of Neillsville were weekend visitors at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence DeMert.

Mrs. James Nozar is visiting relatives in Chicago.  Her daughter, Carole, who spent the past months with relatives in the Chicago area, will return with her mother this week. 

Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Free and son, Donald visited Mr. and Mrs. Harold Murphy in Black River Falls Sunday.

The York Community club will meet at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Huntley July 20.

Clark Grange was scheduled to meet Tuesday evening at the Otto Holnbach home.

Mr. and Mrs. Julius Rennak, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Hansen and family of Fremont, and Mr. and Mrs. August Rennak of Glenview, Ill., camped and fished at Spirit Lake Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Trachta and son, Joe, of Cresco, Ia., visited at the Joe Pisny home Thursday.  They were enroute to Marshfield where they were called because of the serious injury of Michael Neubauer, nine, who fell through a hole in a hay mow fracturing his skull.  Michael, who lives near Mosinee, is in the hospital, where he is reported as making good progress.  Mr. and Mrs. Pisny visited him Sunday and she also sat up with him at the hospital one night last weekend.

Weekend guests at the Ray Kammerer home were his folks, Mr. and Mrs. William Kammerer of Rockford, Ill., and Mr. Kemmerer’s brothers, Stanley Metcalfe and family of Glenview, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Van Dusen of Kingston , Ill, and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Robbins, Centralia, Ill.  Linda Kammerer returned with the Metcalfe family for three weeks, and Wanda Kammerer returned with her grandparents.  Mary Metcalfe remained at the Kammerer home.
