Holman, Natalie Jean (Marriage - 9 July 1960)

The South Beef River Lutheran Church of rural Osseo was the scene of a very pretty wedding Saturday, July 9, when Natalie Jean Holman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Holman of rural Fairchild, became the bride of Orville Jerome Miller, son of Mrs. Raymond Sherman, Morris, Ill.

The 8 o’clock ceremony was performed by the Rev. Richard S. Hanson of St. Paul, after which a reception for 175 guests was held in the church parlors.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose for her wedding a dress of silk organza over dotted Swiss, styled with an empire waistline, Italian neckline detailed with organza appliqué, and three-quarter length sleeves.  Her finger tip veil of illusion fell from an open lace crown with seed pearls and pearl drops.  She carried a cascade of white snowdrift and ivy.

Street length dresses of pink, gray and white striped sheer were worn by Miss Mary Holman, sister of the bride who was the maid of honor; Miss Carolyn Miller, sister of the groom, and Miss Cheryl Holman of Eau Claire, cousin of the bride, bridesmaids.  They carried cascades of pink gladioli.

Byron Thorsen of Morris, Ill., was bestman.  Other attendants of the groom were John Holman, brother of the bride; Harold Holman, Humbird, Richard Wickert, Morris, Ill., and Fred Arneson of Minneapolis.

Mrs. Holman attended her daughter’s wedding in a pink lace dress with white accessories.  The groom’s mother chose a light green dress with white accessories.  Both wore white orchid corsages.  Mrs. Alvin Roberts, the bride’s grandmother, chose a blue dress and wore a carnation corsage with rosebuds.

Alvin Instesefjord of La Crosse, cousin of the bride, sang, "Jesus Christ be Present Now" and O Perfect Love."  The organist was Charles Knutson of Blair.

After a short honeymoon in the Lake Superior region, the couple will make their home at 2382 Long Ave. St. Paul.

Mrs. Miller is a graduate of Wisconsin State College in Eau Claire and will teach in the Roseville schools.  The groom attends Augsburg College in Minneapolis.
