Dewhurst and Merrillan (21 July 1960)

 

About 40 relatives gathered Sunday at the Ellsworth Skaar home in honor of Mrs. Allen Hosetter and daughter, Robin of California.  They enjoyed a picnic supper in the yard.

 

Mary Holmgreen, Sandra and James Sutton attended a 4-H camp at Camp Bradfield a few days last week.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Lea of Delavan were Monday dinner guests at the home of Louis Hayden, Sr.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Kolbrak of Milwaukee spent a week’s vacation here.

 

Mrs. Etta Beede and Elgie visited Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Beede and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Beede in Eau Claire.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Haley of Iowa were weekend guests at John Bentley’s.

 

Mrs. Earl Kruse of Elmhurst, Ill., spent last week at John Bentley’s and visited her son at Camp McCoy.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Carey of Minneapolis spent the weekend at Sam Rush’s.

 

Miss Elvina Linder and Mrs. Charles Nielson visited Sunday at Tomah and Camp Douglas.

 

Scott Nichols of Lansing, Mich., and his sister, Mrs. Mattie Button of Sparta, were recent callers at Claire Van Sickle’s.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Francis of Milwaukee, Mrs. Fred Francis of Clinton, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Dancker and family of East Troy and Mr. and Mrs. Alan Young of Kenosha were weekend guests at Alton Marvin’s and attended the Marvin-Jingle wedding.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Schultz and sons of Waterford visited Monday night with her brother, Peter Reinart and his family.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hubing of Neillsville were Sunday afternoon and evening visitors at Peter Reinarts.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Lee Brownelle of Ely, Minn., visited relatives here last week.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Simonson and Mrs. Addison Burlingame went to Milwaukee Wednesday evening and spent Thursday with their brother, Russel Simonson, who is in the hospital after a heart attack.  They returned home Thursday evening.

 

Mrs. Emily Basara and daughter, Shirley Ann, and the latter’s friend, Peter Werdermann, all of Chicago, Ill., spent the last two weeks at the Basara farm, east of Merrillan.  They returned Saturday evening. They made daily visits to see Mrs. Basara’s mother, Mrs. Frances Novak, at the Rudolph Novak Home by Bruce Mound.
