Newman, Karen Lou (Marriage - 23 July 1960)

The United Church of Christ in Neillsville was the scene of the wedding Saturday of Miss Karen Lou Newman and Alan F. Harder.  Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Harold Newman of Loyal and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Harder of Greenwood. The Rev. Benjamin Stucki was in charge of the double ring ceremony.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a ballerina-length nylon organza gown with three-quarter sleeves.  There was a floral design around the sleeves, and neckline.  Her waist-length veil was fastened to a wreath of white orange blossoms as a headpiece. She carried a bouquet of red roses.

A sister of the bride, Kaye Newman, was the maid of honor; and Rene Harder, a brother of the groom, was best man.  Ushers were Frank Croman and Benjamin Harder.

Accompanied by Mrs. Marie Grether, Ellis Wall sang the solos.  A reception was held at the home of the groom for about 200 guests.

The couple will make their home at 4201 5th Ave. Kenosha, after August 1, where the groom is employed.

The bride is a graduate of the Loyal High School, and the groom, of Neillsville High School.  The bride has been employed in Milwaukee.

Out of town guests were from Milwaukee, Kenosha, Beloit, Manitowoc, Loyal, Minnesota, Plymouth, and Peoria, Ill.
