Granton, Wisconsin (28 July 1960)

 

Mrs. Kearney Davis was in the hospital for six weeks with a broken hip.  She came home Sunday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. William Morley and son and daughter, are spending their vacation at the Braatz summer home on Birchwood Lake.

 

Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Witte spent the weekend visiting friends and relatives in Pepin.

 

Mrs. Tresa Walch and daughter, Mrs. Stanley Tait and children were Sunday afternoon callers at the William Schmidtke home.

 

The Granton Happy Homemakers had their picnic at Hatfield Sunday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Opelt of Hibbing, Minn., are on vacation now and are visiting at the Roland Quicker home for a few days.  Mr. Opelt is assistant manager of the J. C. Penney Company’s Hibbing store. 

 

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schlinsog and Darwin were among the relatives who helped Loran Schulz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Schulz of Owen, celebrate his seventh birthday Tuesday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schlinsog and Darwin called on Mrs. Ora Beeckler in Granton, Friday.

 

Mrs. Verna Gourlie has been visiting at the Mrs. Mabel Austin and William Schmidtke homes.  She returned Sunday to Rockford, Ill.

 

Saturday Mr. and Mrs. harry Zaleske moved into their new home.  Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Lavey have moved into the house formerly occupied by the Zaleskes.

 

Mr. and Mrs. William G. Meyer of Marshfield had their son, Thomas Scott, born July 6, baptized in Our Lady of Peace Church at Marshfield Sunday.

 

Mrs. H. A. Treu of Appleton spent from Saturday until Wednesday with Mrs. Rosetta Meyer and Anita Landgraf.
