Hanson, Evonne M. (Marriage - 30 July 1960)

 

St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville was the scene Saturday of the wedding of Miss Evonne M. Hanson and Arnold L. Smith.  Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hanson of Neillsville and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Smith of Thorp.

 

The Rev. John Allemang, assisted by the Rev. Joseph Eisenmann, performed the double ring ceremony.

 

The bride approached the altar in a floor-length gown of net, accented with nylon lace.  It had a scalloped neckline and long lace sleeves.  The bodice was lace-over-satin.  She carried a bouquet of red roses on a prayer book.

 

Miss Loretta Smith of Thorp, a sister of the groom was the maid of honor. She wore a dress of blue nylon over taffeta and net, and carried a basket of pink tea roses and baby ‘mums.  Russel Briderstedt was best man.

 

A reception was held in the basement of the church for about 75 guests.  The basement was decorated with an assortment of garden flowers.

 

The couple will make their home in Dallas. The bride is a graduate of the Neillsville High School and the groom of Thorp High School.

 

Out of town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Kass, Dr. and Mrs. B. R. Slota, Mrs. Mary Smith, Gustave Yhan, William Remer and Frank Mertens, all of Thorp; Joe Wojdyla of Lublin; William Hanson of Kenosha; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Juntunan and John Juntunan of Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Cornel Erickson of Curtiss; Mr. and Mrs. Schumacher and family, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Erickson and family of Eau Claire.
