Micke, Joanne (7 SEP 1957)

Joanne Micke and Raymond Stroinski greeted relatives and friends at a reception at St. Hedwig’s Parish Hall following their marriage on Saturday, Sept. 7th, 1957 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.  The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Father J. B. Curtiss and St. Bernard’s Junior Choir sang at the Nuptial Mas which was a 9 a.m.

Joanne is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Micke, Rt. 3, Stanley, and Raymond is the son of Mrs. Ann Stroinski of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, chose a chapel length gown of imported Swiss embroidery over net and satin with a fitted bodice, Sabrina neckline and short sleeves, worn with gauntlets.  The skirt of nylon tulle and satin was fashioned with a bouffant overskirt with deep handkerchief points.  Her fingertip veil was held by a coronation crown etched in iridescents and pearls, and she carried white carnations and stephanotis centered with an orchid.

As maid of honor, the bride cose her sister, Carol, who wore a gown of Nile green and carried a bouquet of bronze mums and yellow roses.

The bridesmaids, all cousins of the bride, were: Ann Vanderhyden, Thorp; Mrs. Wm. Neubauer, Milwaukee, and Marlene Burkhardt, Eau Claire, who wore dresses of coral and carried bouquets of coral roses and yellow mums.  The attendant’s floor length gowns were fitted bodice with a crushed taffeta fashioned with scooped neckline, cummerbund and full net skirts over taffeta.  They wore open crowns of velvety leaves in matching colors.

As best man for his cousin was Gordon Czyzewicz.  Groomsmen were Theodore Stroinski, the groom’s brother, Armon Micke, the bride’s brother, and William Neubauer, the bride’s cousin of Milwaukee.

Ring bearers were Dennis Klick, nephew of the groom, and Mark Blise of Kenosha, a cousin of the groom.  Ushering duties were performed by Wm. Micke Jr., the bride’s brother, and Ervin Klick, the groom’s brother-in-law.

Mrs. Micke chose a crystal blue street dress to wear at her daughter’s wedding, and she had a corsage of pink roses.

The groom’s mother wore a navy blue street dress with a corsage of red roses.

The wedding breakfast was served at the W. G. Vanderhyden home.

85 guests were present at the dinner served at St. Hedwig’s Hall, and guests numbering 300 attended the reception.  The wedding dance in the evening was also at St. Hedwig’s Hall.

The young couple is spending their honeymoon in northern Wisconsin.

Both the bride and groom attended school at Thorp and are employed at the Thorp Finance Corp.
