Urlaub, Janis Marie (Marriage - 3 September 1960)

Miss Janis Marie Urlaub, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Urlaub, Rt. 3, Neillsville, and Lee Anthony Steinhilber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Steinhilber, Rt. 1, Neillsville, exchanged nuptial vows in a double ring ceremony performed Saturday by the Rev. Fr. Joseph Eisenmann in St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, approached the altar wearing a floor length gown of nylon tulle and Alencon lace. The full, bouffant skirt with tiers of tulle and lace was fashioned with a chapel train.  The fitted bodice was styled with long, fitted sleeves and a Sabrina neckline accented with sequins and seed pearls. A crown of aurora crystals held her fingertip veil of imported illusion net. She carried a cascade bouquet of yuletide roses.

Miss Beverly Urlaub was her sister’s maid of honor. She was attired in an orchid gown of lace and net over taffeta, fashioned with a bouffant skirt, a lace bodice and short sleeves. A butterfly cummerbund highlighted the skirt. She wore an open headpiece with nose veil to match the gown.

Bridesmaids were Mrs. Ben Urlaub of Neillsville, in a mint gown, and Miss Donna Kissling of Eau Claire, in a maize gown fashioned similar to the one worn by the maid of honor. The attendants carried baskets of yellow feathered carnations with accents of ribbon and net to match their dresses.

Ronald Yankee of Eau Claire was bestman. Groomsmen were Ben Urlaub and Skipper Lee, both of Neillsville.  Ushers were David DeMert, Neillsville, and Tom Hansen, Oshkosh.

Christine Jake, cousin of the groom was junior bridesmaid, and wore a floor length gown of white similar to those of the bridesmaids. She carried a basket of feathered carnations.

On their return from a wedding trip to Canada the newlyweds will reside on Rt. 3, Neillsville.  Both are graduates of the 1957 class of the Neillsville High School.  The bride is the court reporter in the office of the county judge, and the groom is a senior at Stout State College, Menomonie.

Nuptial music was furnished by the choir of St. Mary’s Catholic Church; and as the bride placed a bouquet of blue and white flowers at the altar of the Blessed Virgin, the Children’s choir sang, "On This Day, Oh Beautiful Mother."

Out of town people here for the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Otto Steinhilber, Mrs. Mary Raab and Tony Raab, Neenah; Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Potter, Mr. and Mrs. George Steinhilber, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Steinhilber, Mr. and Mrs. William Beyer and children, and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Steinhilber, all of Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. Gus Willard and family, Mrs. William Gillies and Mr. and Mrs. George Urlaub, Chicago, Ill.
