Genteman, Betty Jane (Marriage - 17 September 1960)

St. John’s Lutheran Church in Neillsville was the setting Saturday for the wedding of Miss Betty Jane Genteman and David Berlick, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. William Genteman of Rt. 1, Neillsville and Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Berlick of 1215 Bruley St., Neillsville.

The nuptial vows were repeated before an altar adorned with baskets of gladioli and fall garden flowers. The pews were decorated with ruffled white net and blue bows.  The Rev. Norman Lindloff performed the double ring ceremony.

As the bride walked down the aisle on the arm of her father, she wore a gown of Chantilly lace and net over satin, with a full bouffant skirt, fashioned with tiers of lace and net.  The fitted bodice was styled with a scalloped Sabrina neckline outlined with colored sequins and pearls.  The long sleeves tapered to a pint extending over her hand.  Her fingertip veil of illusion net, edged in lace, cascaded from a crown of sequins and pearls. She carried a crescent bouquet of white glads, each centered with a pink rosebud.

Miss Barbara Genteman was her sister’s maid of honor, and Miss Susan Paulson, cousin of the groom, was her bridesmaid.  They were attired in dresses of blue organza over blue taffeta, and wore headpieces of carnations. They carried lace baskets filled with pink and white carnations.

James Eisentraut of Rockford, Ill., served as bestman.  Herbert Schoenherr, Jr., was groomsman. Wayne Foemmel and Morris Johnson ushered.

Music was sung by Arlyn Mills of Owen, accompanied at the organ by Victor Lehman.

Two hundred guests attended the reception at St. John’s School.

The bride, a 1960 graduate of the Neillsville High School, has been employed in Marshfield.  The groom, a 1959 graduate, is in the army, stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., where the couple is now residing.
