Schneider, Lorraine (Marriage - 10 September 1960)

Miss Lorraine Schneider, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Schneider of Merrill, and Philip Swift of Kenosha, son of Mrs. Ruth Swift of Milwaukee, repeated nuptial vows September 10 in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Merrill. The Rev. A. W. Ludwig performed the double ring ceremony before an altar decked with white ‘mums in gold vases. Baskets of seasonal flowers adorned the chancel. White satin bows marked the pews and a white carpet lined the aisle.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a gown of imported silk organza over taffeta. Its fitted bouffant skirt extended into a chapel train, with wide streamers extending from the empire waist into the train. The fitted empire bodice was accented with a pearl trimmed portrait neckline, and long, fitted sleeves.  Her fingertip veil of silk illusion net cascaded from a half-hat headpiece styled with scallops and trimmed with sequins and seed pearls.  A cultured pearl centered at the forehead. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses.

Mrs. Phyllis Bauman, a sister was the matron-of-honor.  She was attired in a Kelly green silk organza gown. Bridesmaids were Miss Noreen Cox, a college friend, and Miss Barbara Krause, of Neillsville.  They wore dresses identical to that of the matron of honor.

Tom Swift of Milwaukee was the bestman. Groomsmen were Gilbert Schneider and Lyle Bauman, both of Merrill.

The bride is a graduate of the Merrill High School and the College of Medical Technology in Minneapolis, Minn., and is registered by the ART and AMT.  She is a member of the Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority.  For the last year she has been employed in Memorial Hospital in Neillsville as a laboratory and x-ray technician.

The groom attended high school in Milwaukee, and is a veteran of six years of Army service.  He is employed by American Motors in Kenosha.

Mr. and Mrs. Swift are residing at 4420 17th Ave. Kenosha.
