Hubing, Lucille (20 October 1902 - 23 September 1960)

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Arthur Hubing were held Monday from the Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church. The Rev. Virgil Holmes officiated and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Hubing, the former Lucille Davis, died Friday following and illness of several months.

 

She was born October 20, 1902, in the Town of York, the daughter of Truman and Effie (Breese) Davis.  She was educated in a rural school and was a graduate of Neillsville High School.  She attended Stevens Point Normal and taught the Wild Rose and Tioga schools before going to Oconto Falls, where she taught the primary grades.

 

On June 7, 1924, she was married to Arthur Hubing in Menomonie, Mich.  They resided on the old Hubing farm for 14 years before moving into their present home in the Town of Grant. 

 

Mrs. Hubing was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church, the Women’s Society of Christian Service, and the Pleasant Ridge Homemakers Club.   She served for 24 years as treasurer of the Kurth School.

 

She is survived by her husband and three children: Wendell Hubing, Granton; Mrs. Larry (Artice) Babka, Black River Falls; and Bradley Hubing, Stoughton.  Other survivors are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Truman Davis, Granton, a brother, Eldred Davis, Granton; a sister, Mrs. Charles (Lila) Hubing; and five grandchildren.

 

The Bergemann Funeral Home made funeral arrangements.

 

Pallbearers were: Calvin Gerhardt, Frank Gies, George Kuehn, Alfred Magnuson, Ernest and William Vine.

 

Hymns "In the Garden," and "Beyond the Sunset" were sung by Mrs. Virgil Holmes and Herbert Feig, accompanied by Mrs. Lewis Scholtz.

 

Members of the Pleasant Ridge W. S. C. S. and the Pleasant Ridge Homemakers Club attended the services in a group.
