Greenwood, Wisconsin (29 September - 1960)

 

The Live and Learn Homemakers met at the Ray Johnson home last Thursday for their first meeting of the year.  Mrs. Delbert Mondlock and Mrs. LaVern Spuhler were co-hostesses.  Hostesses for the coming year were announced and projects were discussed.  Project leaders for the year were chosen.  Mrs. Donald Cole gave a report on the Homemakers tour to Minneapolis September 21.

 

Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Arch of Greenwood entertained about 30 relatives at a supper party in honor of the 80th birthday of Mike Podobnich.  Mrs. Arch is a daughter.

 

Those present were: Mrs. Joseph Bandoz, Joliet, Ill.; Mrs. Gene Long, Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Mendelson and family, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Val Yurkovich and family, Willard; Mike Podobnich, Jr. Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. August Podobnich, Loyal, Mrs. Donald Hatton, St. Paul, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Podobnich, Milwaukee, and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Zupanc and family Loyal.

 

It was the first time in 30 years that the Podobnich family were all able to be together.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Young entertained friends at a card party Tuesday evening in honor of their 16th wedding anniversary.  Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Harry Greve, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Young, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Catlin, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Ellison and Gordon, and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ertl, and Mrs. Belle Wehling.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Huesman and Arvid Anderson of West Brook, Minn., were weekend guests at the Holgar Lindgren home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hoeft, Lodi, Calif., visited from Tuesday through Thursday at the Ben Grambsch home.

 

Mrs. Neil Neeb attended the wedding of Delyle Singstock and Darlene Krueger in Abbotsford Saturday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Davel and children of Menasha spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Davel.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Merlak and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. J.  Boss, of Ladysmith, visited at the Matt Merlak home last weekend.
