Sterling, Mr. and Mrs. Nedry (Golden - 16 November 1960)
Mr. and Mrs. Nedry Sterling, who were married November 16, 1910, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last Saturday evening in the Abbotsford city hall. The anniversary was celebrated early because of the convenience to some of the children.
A double wedding ring cake decorated the table, along with a centerpiece of bronze and yellow ‘mums. A 6:30 dinner was served to members of the immediate family. Many neighbors and other friends joined them in the evening.
They have five living children. One son, Melvin, was killed in World War II.
The five children and their families, and 15 grandchildren, attended the celebration. They included: Lester Sterling of Woodburn, Ore., Mrs. Robert (Lucille) Bemis of Ottumwa, Ia., Mrs. Charles (Evelyn) Estrom of Highwood, Ill., Mrs. Ernest (Marge) Schade and Mrs. James (Nila) Buss of Abbotsford.
