Hanson, Julius (22 August 1875 - 11 November 1960)

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home for Julius Hanson, 85, Rt. 1, Neillsville, who died Friday.  Officiating was the Rev. E. G. Burtness of the Calvary Lutheran Church, and burial as made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mr. Hanson, who had made his home with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hubbard, for the last year and one-half, was born August 22, 1875, in Neillsville.  He was the son of the late Ole and Marie (Jacobson) Hanson.  Following his education in the Neillsville schools he left for the western states, where he worked as a shoe salesman.  He then made his home with the Hubbards in Chicago during their residence there.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Alma Light of Whittier, Cal. and Mrs. Hugh (Minnie) Hubbard of Neillsville.  He never married.

Pallbearers were: E. H. Snyder, Cleve Evans, Leslie Cook, Nick Scherer, Otto Wetzel and Robert Opelt.

"In the Garden" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" were sung by Wilfred Galstad, accompanied by Miss Kathleen Galstad.  Mr. and Mrs. Lyndon Hubbard of Chicago, Ill., were here from out of town for the service.

Let’s watch and see if Marla grabs this next one as her own for Ashland Co.
