Noah, Mathilda (11 OCT 1874 - 17 JUN 1952)

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Mathilda Noah, 77, were held in the Methodist Church last Saturday at 2:30 p.m.  The Rev. Lee Holmes officiated and interment was in the Loyal Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were Joe Motchenbacher, Ralph Pratt, James Roder, George Cleveland, August Witt, and Wm. Lindekugel.

 

Mrs. Ray Prior and Mrs. Calvin Prior sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Under His Wings."  Miss Donna Mae Gotter was organist.  Members of the local R.N.A. Society, of which Mrs. Noah was a member for over 40 years, conducted their funeral service at the church.

 

Mrs. Noah, nee Mathilda Pagenkopf was born Oct. 11, 1874 in Germany and came to America with her parents when two years of age.  They settled in Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.).

 

On June 19, 1896, she was married to Simon Noah at Neillsville.  They moved to a farm near Greenwood that year where they resided until 1910 when they moved to Loyal.  She has been a resident of this area for most of the years since then.  She was taken ill while at the home of her son Arthur at Willard, and was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she died at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 1952.

 

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Everett (Martha) Nelson, Venice, Calif.; and Mrs. Howard (Lena) Corey, Greenwood; seven sons, Herman, Spencer; Rudolph and George, Milwaukee; William, Oshkosh; Alvin, Minneapolis; Arthur, Willard, and Edward Janesville; two sisters, Mrs. Ernest Junchen, Granton, and Mrs. J. Meyers, California; three brothers, Herman, Neillsville, Emil, Kenosha, and Rheinold, California; twenty-seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

 

One son preceded her in death.

 

Out of town people attending were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Corey and family, Alfred Noah, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Fravert, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Noah, Mrs. Calvin Frantz, Mr.a nd Mrs. Humke, all of Greenwood; Art Noah and family, Willard; Mrs. Ernest Junchen and Elmira Junchen, Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Pagenkopf and son, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Don Acheson, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Nelson and family, Gardena, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Noah and family, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Noah and family, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Noah, Janesville; Mr. and Mrs. R. Noah and family, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. George Noah and family, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. William Noah and family, Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Gronick, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Rex Krejci, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. W. Oaks, Beloit; and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wiley, Oshkosh.
