Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Uhrig, 54, who died at her home Friday evening, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Methodist Church.  The Rev. Lee Holmes, La Crosse, officiated, and burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.

Mrs. Uhrig, the former Erma Herdrich, was born July 16, 1898, in Milwaukee.  A graduate of the Loyal High School, she also graduated from the Normal School at Oshkosh.

Her marriage to Fred Uhrig took place June 12, 1924, in New Holstein.  She taught school for six years before her marriage.  They made their home on a farm in the Township of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), and after a few years, they moved to Mount Calvary, where they resided on a fur farm 14 years.

They returned to Loyal 10 years ago and resided on the same farm they had lived on before they moved to Mount Calvary.

Mrs. Uhrig was a member of the Methodist Church, the Women’s Society of Christian Service, and also taught the beginners class of the Sunday School for many years.

She is survived by her husband, two sons, Arley, Madison, and Robert, Tokyo, Japan; two daughters, Marliss and Emily, at home; a brother, Everett, Loyal; and two sisters, Mrs. George Rowley, Loyal, and Mrs. Victor Dietz, Mount Carroll, Ill.
