Zuehlke, Audrey Ann (29 NOV 1952)

 

In a 2 o’clock double ring ceremony Saturday afternoon, Nov. 29, 1952, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenwood, Miss Audrey Ann Zuehlke became the bride of Ray O. Johnson.  The Rev. Walter Schedler officiated.

 

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Zuehlke, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), was given in marriage by her father.  Her gown of white nylon lace over white satin was detailed with a scalloped neckline and pointed sleeves.  Her nylon lace trimed illusion veil was attached to a satin seed pearl trimmed cap.  She wore a single strand of pearls and carried a white orchid on a lace covered prayer book.  The gown was made by the bride.

 

Miss Jeanne Tews of Marshfield was maid of honor and Miss Donna Loomis, Eau Claire, a cousin of the groom, was bridesmaid.  Both wore similarly styled dresses of dark green taffeta, ballerina length.  They wore stoles over the shoulders, and carried white chrysanthemums on a matching dark green muff.

 

The bride’s mother wore a black dress with a corsage of yellow mums and the groom’s mother wore a blue dress with a yellow mum corsage.

 

Serving as best man for his brother was Donald Johnson of Taylor, and George Zuehlke, Jr., Loyal, brother of the bride, was groomsman.  The ushers were Robert Johnson, Taylor, a brother of the groom, and Gerhard Ziehlsdorf, Milwaukee, uncle of the bride.  A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents and a wedding supper was served in the church parlors to over 100 guests.

 

Miss Rochelle Lautenbach sang, "Two Dreams in One United" and "The Lord’s Prayer’ and Miss Jeanne Nysted was organist.

 

The bride is a graduate of Loyal High School, 1950, and attended the Eau Claire Vocational School.  Before her marriage she was a secretary in Eau Claire.

 

The groom, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Johnson of Taylor, is a graduate of the Hixton High School, 1948, and attended the La Crosse Vocational School.  He wons an implement business in Taylor and is also employed on his father’s farm.  After a Wedding trip in northern Wisconsin, the newlyweds will be at home on a farm at Taylor.

 

The bride’s going away costume was a blue wool jersey dress with which she wore a white orchid corsage and navy accessories.

 

Guests from Spencer, Colby, Withee, Milwaukee, Humbird, Davis, Ill, Pittsville, Greenwood, La Crosse, Fond du Lac, and Loyal were in attendance.
