Younker, Darlene (3 JUN 1961)

Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Haslow are making their home on a farm at rural Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.).  Their marriage took place at Loyal Saturday, June 3, 1961.

The new Mrs. Haslow is the former Darlene Younker, daughter of Rudolph Younker, Abbotsford.  The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Haslow of route 1, Loyal.

For her wedding, the bride wore a floor length gown of nylon sheer over taffeta styled by a scalloped Sabina neckline with rhinestone trim, a fitted bodice and long tapered sleeves above the bouffant skirt with Alencon lace trim.  Tiara of nylon sheer ruffles extended downt he back of the skirt.  Her fingertip veil of imported tulle with hand rolled edge was attached to a headpiece of rhinestones and seed pearls, and she carried a colonial cascade arrangement of roses, stephanotis and ivy.

Mrs. Gerald Schwantes of Spencer attended the bride as her matron of honor.  Junior bride was Debbie Pockrandt of Loyal, who wore a dress of the same style as that of the bride.

Junior groom was Edward Haslow of Loyal, who attended the groom with the best man, Gerald Schwantes of Spencer.  Ushering wedding guests were Verlyn Pockrandt of Loyal and Nyle Brandt of Greenwood.

The bride’s attendants wore ballerina length gowns of silk organza with wide hems in peacock blue color designed with two-tone cummerbunds extending to large bows with streamers at the back and matching headpieces.  Their flowers were arrangements of white and blue carnations and stephanotis.

A supper was served at 6 o’clock in the church parlors with a reception being held at the home of the bride’s brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Verlyn Pockrandt, Loyal.

The bride is a graduate of the Abbotsford High School and has been employed at the Loyal Tribune office.  Her husband is a graduate of the Loyal High School and is engaged in farming.
