Rondorf, Christine (1 August 1876 - 21 September 1954)

 

Mrs. Matthew Rondorf, 78, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nora Buffington of Marshfield, R. 4 at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.  Mrs. Rondorf had been confined to her bed for the past two years and death was attributed to old age complications.

 

The body will lie in state at the Myre Funeral Home from Wednesday evening till taken to the church. A general rosary service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Norbert King officiating.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

 

Mrs. Rondorf, nee Christine Bous, was born at St. Mary’s Ridge, Monroe County August 1, 1876.  She received her education there, and Sept. 1, 1896, she was married to Matthew Rondorf. Soon after marriage they moved to a farm in the Town of York, Clark County. Seventeen years ago they moved to the city of Loyal.  After the death of her husband in April, 1952 Mrs. Rondorf made her home with her daughter in Marshfield.  She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and the Altar Society.

 

She is survived by four sons, Will Rondorf, Marshfield, Frank Rondorf, Haven, So. Dakota; Alfred Rondorf, and Joe Rondorf Greenwood; also one daughter, Mrs. Nora Buffington of Marshfield; one brother, Weill Bous, of Hoven, So. Dakota; and three sisters: Mrs. Herman Flock and Mrs. Peter Schmidt, Cashton and Mrs. Joe Lackey, Iowa; 24 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren survive.

 

One daughter died in 1943 and two sisters and three brothers are deceased.
