Schecklman, Joseph (17 September 1868 - 5 October 1954)

 

Joseph Schecklman, 86, who had suffered ill health for the past two years died of a stroke Tuesday at the home of his son Otto Schecklman, Marshfield.

 

He was born in Bavaria, Germany, September 17, 1868 and came with his parents to the United States when he was six years old.  He lived at Jefferson, Wisconsin, until 1888 when he came to Clark County and settled in the vicinity of Loyal.  Since 1944 he has lived with his son, Otto.

 

He was married to Dora Wolf in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal, on July 6, 1914.

 

Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Friday in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal, with the Rev. Norbert King, officiating.  Burial was in the parish cemetery.

 

Mr. Schecklman is survived by his wife, three sons, Louis, of Waukegan, Ill., Otto of Marshfield, and Edwin of Kenosha; and a sister, Mrs. Barbara Schweiger, Milwaukee. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

 

Pallbearers were: Albert, Phillip and Leo Schecklman, George Walter, John Goetz, and Albert Meyer.  A rosary service was held at the Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, at 8 o’clock Wednesday evening and at 8:15 p.m. Thursday at the Myre Funeral Home, Loyal.

 

Out of town persons who attended the funeral rites were Louis Schecklman, Waukegan; Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Schecklman, Kenosha; Mrs. Albert Rushlow & Edward Rushlow, Beaver Dam, Otto Schecklman, Francis, Lawrence, Leo, and Ray Klein, Walter Giloy, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Christensen, Conrad, Evelyn, and Carol Christensen, all of Marshfield.
