Kittl, Margaret E. (8 APR 1886 - 25 JAN 1963)

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Mike Kittle, 76 years old, who died at her home of a stroke at 2 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 1963, were held Tuesday morning.

 

The body lay in state at the Polnaszek Funeral Home where a general rosary services was held Monday evening.  A mass of requiem was sung at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Tuesday, by the Rev. Raymond B. Schulz, after which interment was made in the Abbotsford Cemetery.

 

The pallbearers were George Calmes, Clarence Dolan, Morris Gierl, Walter Hopperdietzel, Sylvester, Kulas and Malcolm Lamont.

 

Margaret Eva Becker was born April 8, 1886 in Hungary and in January 1908 came to the United States to St. Louis, Mo.  Here she and Mike Kittl were married May 3, 1909 and lived there for two years.

 

They came to Wisconsin to Manitowoc County and in 1930 moved to the town of Goodrich.  In 1942 they came to Abbotsford.  Mr. Kittl died here Dec. 1, 1958.

 

Mrs. Kittl, the last survivor of a family of 12 girls and 1 boy, was also preceded in death by an infant son, John, and two grandchildren.

 

She is survived by three sons, Joseph, Dundee, Ill.; Henry, Elgin, Ill.; and Anthony, Sheboygan; and four daughters, Sr. Mary Bernilda (Barbara) of Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc; Mrs. Walter (Elizabeth) Marthaler, and Mrs. Chester (Helen) Marthaler, of Goodrich, and Mrs. Francis (Mary) Wiese of Abbotsford.

 

Thirty grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive.

 

Mrs. Kittl was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and an honorary member of the ladies’ Alter Society.

 

Relatives from away who attended the funeral were from Dundee, Ill., Goodrich, Manitowoc, Sheboygan, Milwaukee, Blair, Marshfield, Owen, and the Colby area.
