Washburn Township (4 May 1961)

 

Mrs. John Reinart will entertain the Washburn Homemakers club next Thursday.  Dinner will be served at noon. Mrs. Arnold Huth, Sr., will present the topic on, "Highway Safety."

 

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kaczor and daughters, Bonnie and Alice, spent the weekend in Milwaukee.  They attended the wedding of Miss Bernadette Kaczor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Kaczor, Saturday evening.  They also attended the reception and dance.  Mr. and Mrs. Leon Schultz and family, Levis, Mr. and Mrs. John Kaczor, Jr., and John Matuszak also attended. All were overnight guests Saturday at the Donald Mullaley home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. John Fluegel stayed at the Joe Kaczor home with the sons, Joey and Leon, and assisted William Matuszak with the chores.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lincoln entertained relatives Sunday in honor of their 25th wedding anniversary, which occurred April (ink smudge) , the confirmation of their daughters, Jean and Lorraine, Sunday at the Methodist Church, and the ninth birthday of their son, Jerry.  Dinner guests in honor of the occasions were Mr. and Mrs. Glen Lincoln, and daughters, Harvard, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hobort, Woodstock, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hammond and family, Spencer; Miss Vera Lincoln and Warren and Francis Lincoln.  Their son, Charles, called from Tacoma, Wash., Sunday to greet them.  Mr. and Mrs. Hobort and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Lincoln were overnight visitors Saturday night of Warren and Francis Lincoln.

 

Misses Vera Lincoln and Janice Lindow, Minneapolis, spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lincoln, and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Lindow.

 

Charles Plummer, Chicago, spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Barney Plummer.

 

Mr. and Mrs. George Allbaugh, Mrs. Chris Feutz, Mrs. Frank Short, Mrs. Elmer Kapfer, Mrs. William Buddinger, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Donald Lindow and Mrs. Ralph Short worked at the Cannonville church all day Thursday, cleaning, sanding and varnishing.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Payne, daughter and son and his lady friend, Chili, and Mrs. Frank Short drove to Rochester, Minn., Sunday to visit Mr. Payne’s father and Mrs. Short’s brother, Ervin Payne, who underwent serious surgery last week. They found him quite ill.
