Nelson, Carol (12 MAR 1955)

Carol Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Nelson of Spencer, route 3, was married Saturday at 2.p.m., March 12th, 1955 at Christ Lutheran Church at Chili, to Mr. Corliss W. Harriman, son of Mrs. Helen Harriman of Chili (Clark Co., Wis.) .

The bodice of the bride’s gown was of lace with a net yoke which was accented with a rhinestone necklace.  Wide lace edged the full white satin skirt and long train.  Her fingertip veil was attached to a crown of orange blossoms.  A shower bouquet of red roses and white carnations with rose buds completed her ensemble.

Mrs. Archie Vanderhoof, sister of the bride, as matron of honor, was attired in a pink strapless net over satin gown topped with a lace jacket.  Tiny flowers adorned the net headpiece which matched her gown.  Her colonial bouquet was of deep pink and white carnations.

The three bridesmaids were Mrs. Duane Anding of Granton, cousin of the groom, in orchid, Miss Arlene Schaefer, Spencer, in green, and Mrs. Gerald Nelson, sister-in-law of the bride, in blue.  Their gowns and headpieces were styled identical to the matron of honor.  White and yellow carnations edged in net to match their dresses, composed their bouquets.

Archie Vanderhoof, brother-in-law of the bride, acted as best man, and Duane Anding, cousin of the groom, Ed Nelson Jr., Gerlad Nelson, brothers of the bride were groomsmen.  Kenneth Dankemyer, cousin of the bride, of Neenah, and Harry Boushon of Chili were ushers.

The bride’s mother was gowned in medium blue with rhinestone neckline and the groom’s mother in navy blue print.  Their corsages were of white and pink carnations.

The reception and supper for 150 guests was held at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Nelson; and a dance was held at the Country Ballroom that evening.

The bride attended school in Clark County and the groom attended school in Chili, also spent two years in military service.  He is now employed at the Chili Milk Pool.

Friends came from Stratford, Marshfield, Granton, Neillsville, Mayville, Altoona, Chili, Neenah, Arpin, Waupaca, Vesper, Greenwood, Wis. Rapids, Colby, Willard, Milwaukee and Spencer.
