Roth, Loretta Mae (20 AUG 1955)

 

A wedding trip to northern Michigan followed the marriage Saturday morning, Aug. 20, 1955, of Loretta Mae Roth and John A. Foster at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal.  Officiating was the Rev. father Norbert King.  A breakfast for the bridal party at the home of the bride’s uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. L.C. Bremer, and dinner and supper for 120 guests at St. Anthony’s Auditorium followed.  A reception was given in the evening at Unity Memorial Hall, Unity.

 

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Roth, Milwaukee, wore a white lace floor length gown with a stand up collar and a skirt fashioned with three tiers of lace.  Her fingertip veil was attached to a small lace cap and she carried a bouquet of white carnations centered with red rose buds.

 

Miss Rita Roth, Milwaukee, was her sister’s maid of honor in ballerina length aqua nylon lace dress with panels of permanent pleated nylon.  Her flowers were white carnations centered with red roses.  Attending the bride as bridesmaids were her sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Foster of Lincoln, Neb., and Mrs. Cornelius Foster of West Bend, both wearing pink lace gowns styled like the maid of honor’s and carrying white carnations centered with pink roses.  The flower girl, Cheryl Finco, Milwaukee, niece of the groom, wore a white floor length dress.  Her flowers were a miniature replica of the bride’s bouquet.  Gregory Foster, nephew of the bride and groom, was ring bearer.  The music was provided by St. Anthony’s choir.

 

The groom, son of Mrs. Theresa Foster of Marshfield, chose his brother, Gerald Foster of Marshfield for his best man.  His groomsmen were also his brothers, Kenneth Foster of Lincoln, Neb., and Cornelius Foster of West Bend.  Donald Foster, also a brother of the groom, and Virgil Roth, brother of the bride, both of Milwaukee, seated the guests.

 

The bride attended St. Anthony’s Catholic School and the Loyal High School.  She was graduated from Messmer High School, Milwaukee.  She has been employed by Badger Meter Co. of Milwaukee.  The groom attended Sacred Heart Parochial School in Marshfield was graduated from Marshfield Senior High School.  He attended State Teachers’ College at Stevens Point.  He served for two years in Paratrooper Division of the U.S. Army.  He has been employed by the American Can Co. of Milwaukee.

 

The bride’s mother wore a rose pink nylon jersey with white accessories and the groom’s mother wore navy blue silk sheer.

 

The new Mr. and Mrs. Foster will live in Indianapolis, Indiana, where the groom will attend college.

 

Guests attending were from Milwaukee, Ephraim, DePere, Green Bay, Loyal, Unity, Marshfield, Colby, Owen, Chicago, Minneapolis, Lincoln, Neb; Ontonogan, Ishpeming and Eckerman, Mich.

 

This was the third marriage in these two families of Foster brothers to Roth sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Foster and Mrs. And Mrs. Cornelius Foster were married in a double ceremony at St. Anthony’s in 1948.
