Vogel, Henry G. (15 JUN 1886 - 22 OCT 1955)

 

Henry George Vogel, 69, died at the Veterans’ Hospital in St. Paul at 8:45 p.m. Saturday.  His death followed an illness of several years.

 

He was born at Hewitt, June 15, 1886.  When a young boy he moved to Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) with his parents.  Here he attended school, and here he spent most of his life, working as a carpenter.  He was a soldier in World War I.

 

Henry G. Vogel was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society.  He married Kate Neubauer at Medford, Nov. 15, 1932.

 

Funeral services were held in St. Anthony’s Church at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Norbert King officiating.  The body reposed in state at the Myre Funeral Home from Monday morning until the time of the church service.  A general rosary was held at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.  He was buried in the parish cemetery with military honors.

 

He is survived by his wife; three sisters, Mrs. William (Maggie) Welsh, Wibaux, Mont., Mrs. Bert (Kate) pope, Loyal, and Mrs. Harry (Carrie) Robinson, Hamilton, Mont.; and four brothers, George of Loyal, Joe of Milwaukee, Matt of Loyal, and Louie of Greenwood.  Henry Vogel was on of a family of 18 children, ten of whom preceded him in death.
