Rueth, Edward  (17 MAY 1927-27 FEB 2011)

 

Edward S. "Eddie" Rueth, 83, Loyal, died on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. (with a 7 p.m. rosary service) on Thursday, March 3, at Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, and again on Friday March 4, from 10 a.m. until time of a funeral sercice at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 4, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. Rev. Jerome Naduvathaniyil will officiate and burial will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Rueth, Roy Rueth, Donald Bangart, Michael Gumz and Lawrence Quelle. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons and godsons.

 

Edward Stanley Rueth was born on May 17, 1927, in rural Loyal, the son of Leo and Agnes (nee Suda) Rueth. He was raised on the family farm and received his education at St. Anthony's Catholic School in Loyal. After completing his education, he worked at various jobs until his marriage to Florence M. Schmidt, on April 6, 1948, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. They farmed and raised their 10 children in the town of Sherman. In the early years of their marriage, he worked for the railroad, did logging during the winter and worked road construction. He continued farming until the time of his death. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and had many interests, but especially loved farming, hunting and fishing.

 

He will be dearly missed by his 10 children, Patricia (Donald) Bangart, Greenwood, Robert (Marie) Rueth, Loyal, Thomas (Anne) Rueth, Loyal, Ralph Rueth, Loyal, Roger (Alora) Rueth, Loyal, Susan (Michael) Gumz, Athens, Bernadette (Lawrence) Quelle, Loyal, Roy (Helen) Rueth, Unity, Rose (Neal Mondloch) Lindekugel, Loyal, and Kay (John Rafferty) Krings, New Brighton, Minn,; 19 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Jayne Kolbeck, Marshfield; two brothers, Bernard "Bun" Rueth, Loyal, and Herbert "Chub" (Kathleen) Rueth, of Parma, Idaho; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence, on July 1, 2005; one granddaughter, Angel Dawn Rueth, on April 20, 1990; one grandson, Adam Quelle, on May 19, 1993; his parents; one sister, Mary Ann Rueth; one brother, Patrick Rueth, and twin brother at birth.
