Oertwig, Carl (30 JUL 1899 - 4 JUN 1958)

 

Carl Walter Oertwig, 58, passed away early Wednesday morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield, after a six month illness due to a heart ailment.

 

Funeral services were held at 2:00 o’clock Saturday afternoon from the Ruesch Funeral Home at Medford with Rev. I.J. Tanner, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Longwood officiating, and burial was in Medford Evergreen Cemetery.

 

Two musical selections were sung by Walter and Richard Needham, accompanied by Shirley Niemi.

 

The pallbearers were Charles Pribbernow, Phillip Laube, Dave Churkey, Norman Porath, Otto Johnson, and Marvin Churkey.

 

He was born July 30, 1899 in the town of Medford, living their most of his life.  He was employed by the Hurd Millworks Corp. of Medford for many years, until 1942 when he moved to a farm south of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).

 

Surviving are his wife, the former Anna Graf, who he married Sept. 2, 1939, in the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Medford; two sons, Conrad, 16, and Albert 13, at home, and a sister, Minnie, Mrs. John Dulsing of Medford.

 

He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Medford.
