Paul, Mary (12? SEP 1881 - 6 JUN 1958)

At two o’clock Tuesday afternoon funeral services were held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Withee, for Mrs. Robert Paul, who passed away about midnight Friday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she had been confined for one week.

The Rev. Theodore Predoehl, pastor of the parish, officiated at the service with burial being made at Riverside Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Otto Bublitz, Robert Habighorst, Vincent Frane, Edward Hoffman, Charles Sturz and Elmer Voightlander.

Mrs. Paul had been in poor health the past several months.  The cause of her death was due to complications in her blood vessels from diabetes which necessitated amputation of her legs a number of years ago.  She was 76 years, 8 months and 24 days of age.

For many years she and her family lived north of Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.) and then came to Owen when her husband retired from farming about 10 years ago.

Mrs. Paul was a sincere, devout Christian Woman, who suffered much from disease, but bore her ailment patiently.  She is survived by five sons, Elmer, Otto, Arthur, Ray and Wilmer, and two daughters, Lorraine Paul and Mrs. Ivason (Lila) Edwards of Palm Beach, Fla.; one granddaughter, two grandsons and one great-granddaughter.  One son, Norman, died in September 1945, in a Japanese prisoner of war camp.  Her husband preceded her in death, passing away in 1955.
