Carter, Nora (31 MAR 1880 - 24 JUN 1958)

 

Nora Tomlinson was born March 31, 1880, near Hampton, Iowa.  She spent her early years in Clay County, Iowa and Noblesville, Ind.

 

On March 28, 1900, she was united in marriage to John H. Carter of Dickens, Iowa.  To this union six children were born, Opal, Mrs. George Gutknecht; Lois, Mrs. John Duncan; John R.; Beryl, Mrs. Arnold Jensen; Elwood T.; and Rosemary, Mrs. Louis Stark. Opal, Mrs. Gutknecht, preceded her mother in death in 1943.

 

In 1929 Mr. and Mrs. John Carter moved to a farm in the town of Hixon (Clark Co., Wis.), where they resided until their retirement several years ago.  The past two years, they have lived with their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Stark, route 1, Allenton, Wis.

 

Mrs. Carter passed away Tuesday, June 24, 1958, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac, where she had been a patient for the past several weeks.

 

Funeral services were from the Warner Funeral Home, Spencer, Iowa, and burial was made in the cemetery at Dickens, Iowa.
