Ehlers, Mary A. (8 September 1877 - 31 December 1961)

Funeral services wee held January 3, from the United Church of Christ for Mrs. Mary A. Ehlers, 87, of Neillsville. She died December 31 in a Marshfield hospital, where she was taken several weeks ago after fracturing a hip in a fall in her home. The Rev. Frank B. Harcey officiated.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Ehlers was born September 8, 1877, in Winona, Minn., where she also received her education. She was married there to the late John Ehlers on June 2, 1887 (1897).  In 1906 they came to Clark County and built their farm in the Town of Levis. Following the death of Mr. Ehlers in 1948, she moved to Neillsville.

She is survived by 12 children: Mrs. Minnie Atwood, Elko, Nev.; Arthur of Neillsville; Mrs. Clarence (Helen) Hogue, Merrillan; Mrs. Arthur (Lillian) Meyers, Neillsville; William of Neillsville; Mrs. Walter (Evelyn) Junchen, Fargo, N. D.; Paul of Neillsville; Mrs. Paul (Dorothy) Meyer, Milwaukee, Glen of Milwaukee; Eugene of Columbus; Irving of Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Robert (Janette) Braatz, Beaver Dam. A brother, Anthone Pruka of Winona, Minn.; 33 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were conducted January 3, from the United Church of Christ in Neillsville for Mrs. Mary A. Ehlers, 87, of Neillsville, who died December 31, in a Marshfield hospital.  The Rev. Frank B. Harcey officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Harry Anderson, Legare Apfel, Elmer Buddenhagen, John Gloff, Ray Kutsche and Carl Opelt. "The Lord’s Prayer" and "In the Garden" were sung by Mrs. Heron Van Gorden, accompanied by Mrs. Jack Grether.
