Reese, Kathleen (Marriage - 30 December 1961)

The Rev. Bernard Kelly officiated at the marriage ceremony and Nuptial High Mass for Miss Kathleen Reese, daughter of Mr. and Mr. Milo A. Reese of Neillsville, and James Eugene Doud, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Doud of Black River Falls, Saturday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville.

Mr. Reese gave his daughter in marriage. The children’s choir sang the Mass.  Poinsettias adorned the church altar.

For her wedding, the bride wore a floor length gown of bridal bouquet taffeta and Chantilly lace. A scalloped Sabrina neckline, embellished with sequins and seed pearls, with long traditional tapered lace sleeves, accented the fitted Basque. The bouffant skirt was fashioned with lace motifs down the front and a plain back falling into a small chapel train.  The blush bridal veil was attached to a small crown of Aurora Borealis. She carried red roses and holly.

Mrs. Glenn Roberts of Neillsville was the matron of honor. She wore a satin brocade street length dress in red. A scoop neckline with three quarter length sleeves accented her fitted bodice and overskirt.  She had a velvet headpiece and carried white poms.

Fred Bauer, Black River Falls, was bestman. Serving as ushers were Clyde Voightlander of Beaver Dam and Arnold Doud of Black River Falls.

A dinner and reception for the family was served at the Silver Dome.

The bride was a 1961 graduate of Neillsville High School.  The groom is employed in Alma Center, where the couple will make their home.
