Wildish, Belle (24 August 1905 - January 1962)

 

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Methodist Church in Neillsville for Mrs. Belle Wildish, of Neillsville, with the Rev. Lloyd Mauer in charge.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Wildish, who had been in charge of the children’s department of the Neillsville Public Library for many years, was found dead in her home Saturday morning, by Mrs. Charles Neff, Sr., a neighbor. County officials said she had taken her own life. She left a note containing instructions for her daughter, Mrs. Robert (Marilyn) Marty of Neillsville.

 

The former Belle Booth, Mrs. Wildish was born August 24, 1905, in Platteville. A graduate of Platteville State College, she taught in the Minneapolis, Minn., school system before her marriage to the late Everett Wildish, who died in 1948.

 

She was a member of the Methodist Church and its WSCS; a member of Carmi Chapter, No. 60, Order of Eastern Star; and served on the executive board of the Neillsville Girl Scouts (now Campfire Girls).

 

In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Wildish is survived by a son, John of Neillsville; by four grandchildren; three brothers, Guy Booth of Platteville, Lester Booth of Cuba City, and Walter Booth of Detroit, Mich.

 

Pallbearers were Frank Brown, Leo Foster, Dr. Milton Rosekrans, Frank Svetlik, Tony Svetlik and Les Yorkston.

 

A hymn, "An Evening Prayer," was sung by Dr. Sarah Rosekrans, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.

 

Those taking part in Eastern Star rites Monday evening were: Mrs. Ruth Dern, worthy matron; Sam Ray, worthy patron; Mrs. Adolph Unger, Chaplain; Mrs. Fred Palmer, Fidelity; Mrs. Warren Huddleston, Ruth; Mrs. Donald Lipscy, Esther; Mrs. Edward Tresemer, Martha; Mrs. Sam Ray, Electa; and Mrs. Jas. A. Musil, organist.

 

Those from out of town here for the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Walter Booth and Miss Nancy Booth, Detroit, Mich.; Lester Booth and Mrs. Donald Booth, Cuba City; Mr. and Mrs. Guy Booth, George Booth, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Booth, and Mr. and Mrs. Homer Sedgewich, all of Platteville; Mrs. Thelma Huntongton, Darlington; Mrs. Paul Andrews, Belmont; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bever, Sparta; Mrs. Lester Zasoba, Mrs. Alan Jacobson, Mrs. Eunice Gerboth and Lee Gerboth, all of Milwaukee; Mrs. Volla Frank, Waukesha; Mrs. Lorraine Deil, Watertown; Mrs. Robert Christensen, Milwaukee; Miss Sharon Hass, Alma Center; R. L. Christensen, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hardies, Menomonie; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Marty and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sternitzky and Larry, Granton.

 

Funeral arrangements were made by the Bergemann Funeral Home.
