Hazen, Charlotte (26 AUG 1883 - 26 FEB 1959)

 

Final rites for Mrs. Chester Hazen were conducted Sunday afternoon at two o’clock from the First Congregational Church, Owen, with the parish pastor, Rev. Ralph Claybaugh, officiating.  Burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.

 

Acting as pallbearers were John Parker, Ed Rusch, John Bacon, Roy Gabriel, Gust Braun and H.B. Mauel Sr.

 

Mrs. Hazen, the former Charlotte Childs of Eau Claire, passed away at her home early Thursday morning, Feb. 26, 1959, after suffering from a long illness.  She was born Aug. 26, 1883, at Eau Claire and for 30 years served as a nurse at Mount Washington Sanatorium.

 

She is survived by her husband, Chester, a step-daughter, Mrs. Paul Konik of Curtiss; two grandchildren, Gary Konik of Barstow, Calif. and Sandra Konik of Eau Claire; three sisters, Mrs. Fred Miner, Mrs. Nick Leibly of Eau Claire, and Mrs. Curtis Goshaw, Portland, Oregon; and a brother, Loyde Childs of Madison.

 

Among those from away attending the funeral services were Mrs. Nick Leibly, Mrs. George Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Miner, Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Miner and daughter, Mrs. Selina Childs, Mrs. Amanda Bacon, Mrs. Eva Shock, Donald Goshaw, and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Hazen, all of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Loyde Childs and son, Loyde Jr., Madison; Mr. and Mrs. James Sukopp and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sukopp, Chippewa Falls; Mrs. Ella Hazen and Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Hazen of Eleva; Mrs. Harold Thompson of Jim Falls; Miss Sandra Konik of Eau Claire and friends from the Curtiss and Withee communities.
