Graham, Roy C. (17 April 1887 - 10 February 1962)

 

Roy C. Graham, 74, former Owen postmaster and civic leader, died February 10 at Fort Snelling Veterans Hospital of leukemia and complications.

 

Rev. Ralph Claybaugh of the Congregational Church officiated at services and burial was made in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

 

Mr. Graham was born April 17, 1887, in Eau Claire, and was married there to Josephine Haas, who died several years ago.

 

He served in World War I as a commissioned officer.  He had lived in Owen since 1919. From 1923 to 1935, when he was a member of the Clark County Board, he served a justice of the peace.  Later he managed the city water system and served on the library board as president.  In 1935 he was appointed postmaster at Owen.  He retired in May, 1957.

 

His survivors are two daughters, Mrs. L. H. (Doris) Legault of Mound, Minn., and Mrs. G. T. (Lorraine) O’Brien of New York City; a son Douglas, Joliet, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Hazel Kuehl of Stevens Point.
