Taylor, John H. (20 AUG 1898 - 26 MAY 1959)

 

John H. Taylor passed away May 26th, 1959 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield at 12:50, suffering from a heart attack.  He had been a patient there for two weeks, having a blood clot in his leg.

 

He was born in Chamberlain, S.D. on Aug. 20, 1898.  He came to Milwaukee as a young man and was united in marriage with Florence Jackson on Aug. 20, 1927.  In 1929 he came to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) and settled on a farm southeast of the city.  His wife passed away on July 26, 1938.

 

He is survived by his son Charles of Danville, Ill., and one granddaughter, Linda Louise.

 

He was a very active member of the Owen Masonic Lodge and very interested and proud of his herd of registered Guernsey cattle which had a record of over 400 pounds butterfat for 10 successive years.

 

Funeral services were conducted May 29 at two o’clock with Rev. Ralph Claybaugh officiating.  Clark Nissen rendered two vocal solos, being accompanied by Mrs. Peter Christophersen.  The Masonic Lodge continued the services with Russell Westendorf, lecturer, conducting the the complete burial service.  Burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.

 

Serving as pallbearers were Louis Burhop, Rolland Haire, John Potocnik, Shurleigh Grimes, Harold Wendt and Lorraine Fritz.  In charge of the floral offerings were Mrs. Hilmer Gustafson, Mrs. Ebner Gustafson, Mrs. Arvid Lindgren and Nancy Gustafson.
