Schwieso, Orel E. ( 30 MAR 1916 - 13 MAY 2011)

LOYAL -- Orel E. Schwieso, 95, of Loyal, died Friday, May 13, 2011, at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal. The Rev. Jerome Naduvathaniyil will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the church Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Orel Eileen Hutchins was born March 30, 1916, in the town of Unity, Clark County, the daughter of Clarence and Anna (Catlin) Hutchins. She grew up on the family farm, receiving her education in the Unity area and graduated from Spencer High School. She was united in marriage Feb. 10, 1934, to Theodore H. Schwieso in Loyal.

During the early years of their marriage, Ted and Orel farmed in both the Clark and Rock county areas. Upon retiring from farming, they eventually moved to a home one mile north of Loyal. Orel also worked at the Loyal Canning Co., Roth Manufacturing and the Star Lodge Motel.

She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, its Altar Society, and was a volunteer for the Loyal election board. In later years, Orel joined the Red Hat Society, enjoying the company of good friends in many of their fun-filled outings.

Orel's family was the central focus of her life. Her love of reading and traveling has passed onto her children. There were many healthy debates as well as laughter around Mom's kitchen table about a myriad of topics. As small children, we enjoyed hours of game playing with Mom, often losing to her competitive spirit.

She will be dearly missed by her six surviving children, Duaine (Mary) of Chili, James (Barbara) of Waunakee, Bruce (Cathy) of Appleton, Cheri (Dennis) Geurtsen of Marshfield, Charmaine (Russell) Becker of Sussex, Brian (Lois) of Marshfield; 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Arlene Schwieso of Marshfield; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Iva Foelske; brother, Delbert Hutchins; her husband, on June 3, 1987; and sons, Terry and Jack.
