Knaack, Mr. & Mrs. Charles Sr. (Gold - 6 SEP 1960)

 

On Sunday, Sept. 4, the children of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Knaack Sr. honored their parents with a reception on the occasion of their Golden Wedding Anniversary.

 

Open house was held from two until four o’clock.  The table was decorated with a three-tier cake having gold candles and individual miniature oil paintings, replicas of their original wedding pictures.  This was presented to them by heir youngest son Donald and family.

 

For the occasion Mrs. Knaack woe a beige dress with a corsage of yellow roses and Mr. Knaack was present with a carnation boutonniere, gifts of the six grandchildren.

 

Al six children were present for this happy occasion.  They are: Rudolph, Hayward; Mrs. Edward Thorson (Eleanora) of Minneapolis; Mrs. Bud (Lenora) Welker and Charles of Owen; Donald of Milwaukee; and Mrs. Eugene (Imogene) Mertens of Withee.  They presented their parents with a chest of money.

 

Charles Knaack took Miss Rose Chris for his bride Sept. 6, 1910 at St. Mary’s Church in Colby, Wis.  They were united in marriage by the Rev. John Neises.

 

Friends and relatives from out of town honoring the couple were: Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Knaack and Nancy, Hayward; Mrs. Edward Thorson and Brian, Mr. and Mrs. Don Mills and Jan of Minneapolis; Ann and Claudia and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Welker, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Chris, Mrs. Adolph Kleinstick and Mrs. Lillian Hammel of Gary, Ind.; Clarence Chris, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Gierl and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Grambort, Abbotsford; Mrs. Frank Zondlo, Mary, Kathey and Allen, Rib Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Mertens and Steven, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gustafson of Washburn; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Naiberg of Holcombe and many relatives and friends from the Owen and Withee area.
