Johnston, David T. "Tom" (15 DEC 1895 - 22? OCT 1960)

Funeral services for David Thomas "Tom" Johnston were conducted Tuesday afternoon from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home.  Rev. James Stone of the Alliance Church officiated, with burial being made at Riverside Cemetery, where military rites were conducted by members of the Van Huizen-Fritz American Legion Post 213 of Owen.

Serving as pallbearers were Julius Johnson, Chris Beck, Siguard Borgeson, Dan Anderson, Arthur Hanson, and Ten Stegeman.

The deceased was born Dec. 15, 1895 at Glidden, Wis., being the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Johnston, pioneer residents of this community.  He passed away at Luther Hospital at Eau Claire where he was being treated for a lingering illness.

For many years he farmed in the community, at one time east of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) and later north of Withee.  He was a veteran, having served in World War I.

He is survived by two brothers, William of Portland, Ore. and George of Gladstone, Mich., and a sister, Mrs. H. Layng of Minneapolis, Minn.
