Miller, Mr. & Mrs. Ludwig (Gold - 19 JUL 1941)

Ludwig Miller and Miss Oursula Burkhart were united in holy wedlock on July 19, 1891, at Augsburg, Germany, and last Sunday the names of our esteemed neighbors were added to the long list of Humbirdites who have lived to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary and receive the congratulations of a host of friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Miller resided in their native land for eight years following their marriage and then came to America, living for a time at Rib Lake.  Since 1908 their home has been on the farm east of town and in the village, with the exception of a few years spent on a truck garden near Philadelphia.  While living in Pennsylvania, a great sorrow came to Mr. and Mrs. Miller, when their oldest son met with an accident.

Tables for this notable gathering were spread on the lawn at their home in this village, where the wedding feast was enjoyed, and during the afternoon numerous friends dropped in to offer congratulations.

The golden wedding anniversary was celebrated last Sunday, as it was vacation time for different members of the family, and it was also Mrs. Miller’s 73rd birthday.  The family present were Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kelsh and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Matt R. Miller, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Miller and children, Rozelle, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Miller and daughters, Hatfield.  Henry Miller, wife and family, who live at Waterloo, could not be here, greatly to the regret of all.

Mr. and Mrs. Miller have four sons and one daughter, and there are thirteen grandchildren.
