Clarence A. Burchell’s name is the only one appearing on the list from Humbird, of those drafted in the armed forces from Clark County for the month of February.  There are 46 names on the list, about three-fourths of whom have rural addresses.

 

Lost - An A gas ration book.  If found please return to Mrs. Will Ringrose, Humbird.

 

Miss Bernice Kubaskie, who is employed in Eau Claire, came Wednesday morning, and is confined to her home with a flu attack.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ben Blum and their daughter, Mrs. Floyd Krouse, were down from Eau Claire last Thursday to spend the day with Mrs. Blum’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Mueller.

 

Rolland Harris has enrolled in the NYA School in Eau Claire and is taking a course in sheet metal work.  Welding will be added later.  His mother and sisters drove up Saturday to bring him home for over Sunday.

 

Mrs. Harry Nibbe was guest of honor at a farewell party Saturday night at the home of Mrs. Jerome Dignin, given by her fellow factory workers.

 

Fred Theiler has sold his ice business, including all stock and equipment, to Angus Flood, who has taken possession.  Mr. Flood will start the ice harvest as soon as possible.  The scale shed at the warehouse will be filled with ice and it is being remodeled for that purpose.  The present ice house will also be used for storage.
