Campbell, Rev. Guy W. (1876? - 12 JUL 1944)

 

The Rev. Guy W. Campbell of Montfort died at a Madison hospital on Wednesday, July 12, 1944, after a short illness, at the age of 68 years.  He was born an Oconomowoc, and was the oldest of five sons and daughters.  When he was a young man the family located in Fairchild.  He entered the ministry of the Methodist Conference in ’97, and served the congregations at Neillsville, Baraboo, La Crosse, Eau Claire, and Madison, and was superintendent of the Platteville district three years.  He was located at Montfort Saturday afternoon with the Revs. J. Pierce Newell and W.T. Tomlinson officiating.

 

Surviving are his wife; three daughters, a son; three sisters, one of whom is Mrs. Chas. M. Sherwood of Fairchild; and an only brother, who resides in California.  Mrs. Sherwood, accompanied by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Donald Sherwood, went to Montfort to attend the burial rites.
