Humbird (26 July 1962)

 

Mrs. Jack Gephart is now nicely settled in an apartment in town.  Sunday she was a dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Sliter of Merrillan.

 

Mrs. Emma O’Leary accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Larry Fitzmaurice of River Falls to Janesville Friday for a week’s visit in the Jake Fitzmaurice home.

 

Janet, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Walker, is reported ill with pneumonia.

 

Henry Spielman of St. Croix Falls was a guest in the Archie Kirby home the past week.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Dick Trachsel and children of Rochester, Minn., spent the weekend with the home folks and took home blueberries.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Terrell and her mother, Mrs. Lena Larson, were at Mondovi Sunday to visit an aunt in the nursing home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Bryner and family attended a family reunion of the Nibbes Sunday at Red Wing, Minn.  Mrs. Gen Harden and boys also attended.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Trachsel and children attended a "cook-out" Sunday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Trachsel, in honor of the fourth birthday of their son Boyd.

 

Mrs. Peter Hemmy celebrated her 85th birthday Tuesday afternoon in her home by having a group of friends come in for lunch, which she prepared herself.  It was complete with angel food cake. Mrs. Hemmy does her own work and although crippled with rheumatism does shopping and calls on friends.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Alfon Wender and Cleo, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hoksch and Melvin of Alma were afternoon and supper guests Sunday in the Elmer Duerkop home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Perle Pickett were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Jahn at a dinner in Black River Falls Sunday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Terrell were supper guests Saturday in the Vaughn Ness home in Altoona.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Collar of Necedah were visitors Sunday afternoon in the Gordon Gearing home.

 

Mrs. Frank Patterson and Jeanette were in Madison this past week.  Jeanette had a checkup at the University Hospital.

 

Four of the Atomic Workers 4-H club, Connie Kitlinger, Connie Printz, Annette Arnold and Gene Christenson, spent a few days the past week at Camp Bradfield.  Mrs. Kitlinger took them own to camp and Leo Printz brought the group home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Duerkop and family spent Thursday with her sister, Mrs. Armand Fisher, and her husband at Pleasantville.
