Merrillan (25 October 1962)


A pink and blue shower was held at the home of Mrs. Frank Walton Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Arthur Cooper of Tomah.  Relatives were invited.


The Wisconsin state employment service will register Merrillan and community people November 1, from noon until 9 p.m., at Merrillan Grade school.  People who wish to take aptitude tests must report between noon and 1 p.m. and 7 and 8 p.m.  For more information, call Vi Smith, Mrs. Holmgreen or Mrs. John Anger.


Mrs. Helen Hogue has returned home from the Marshfield hospital. She is back at her school work again.


The Merrillan Homemakers will have a bake sale on Election Day, November 6, at the Merrillan Hardware Store.  Homemakers’ cookbooks also will be on sale.


Mr. and Mrs. Gib Gile attended the Liberace program in La Crosse Wednesday night.


Mr. and Mrs. Everett Lunderville attended the 45th wedding anniversary observance of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Lawson at Neillsville Sunday.


Mr. and Mrs. Hans Borgwarth and family and Mr. and Mrs. Art Upton, all of Black River Falls, and Terry Skaar visited the Gib Gile cottage Sunday.


Mr. and Mrs. Sam Rush attended a birthday party Saturday night for Mrs. Inez Gaede.


Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Sollberger of Athens spent Thursday night with Mrs. Leslie Sherman.  They were on their way to South Dakota pheasant hunting.


Mr. and Mrs. Sam Rush attended a going away party Wednesday night for Mrs. Minnie Barrows, who is leaving soon for California.


Mr. and Mrs. Gile Danielson of Hayward spent last week with Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Johnson.


Mr. and Mrs. Neil Rose of Rockford, Ill., spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Vincent.


Miss Caroline Gosh of Milwaukee spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Gosh.
