Dale, Patria J. (2 March 1938 – 29 May 2023)

Patria Dale passed away peacefully on May 29, 2023, at the age of 85 at Rennes Health and Rehab of Weston, under the care of Compassus Hospice.

Patria J. Saunders was born on March 2, 1938, to James and Othelia (Scheeler) Saunders in Wasco, CA. When Patria was young, her and her family moved to Killdeer, ND. They lived there for several years before moving back to California. She graduated from Sonoma High School in Sonoma, CA. Patria married and had four children, Elaine, Nina, Shawn and Stanley. She worked as a teacher's aide in California before the family moved to Greenwood, in 1969 to begin farming. After her divorce, she worked as a unit clerk at the Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville until her retirement.

She is survived by three children, Elaine (Dale) Daly, Nina (Jim) Henchen, and Stanley Dale, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild due in September.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Shawn, a brother, sister and sister-in-law.

She will be dearly missed by her children and grandchildren.

A Memorial Service for Patria will be held at a later date.

Hull, Marian Josephine (20 June 1925 – 29 May 2023)

MARIAN J. HULL, age 97, of College Station, TX, formerly of Thorp, passed away at The Waterford Assisted Living in College Station on Monday, May 29, 2023.

Marian Josephine Haas was born on June 20, 1925, in Thorp, the daughter of Joseph A. and Anna F. (Banderob) Haas. She was raised on the family farm and received her education at St. Bernard Parochial School, and graduated from Thorp High School in 1943. Marian was united in marriage to Edward N. Hull on March 5, 1946, in Neillsville. She was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church.

Marian had many interests, but especially loved spending time with family and friends, giving lots of hugs, and playing games.

She will be dearly missed by her children: Joyce During of Cortland, NY, Jackie (Jon) Nance of College Station, TX, and Jeffrey Hull of Lomita, CA; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law: Sheila Hull of East Peoria, IL; one brother: James (Tommye) Haas of Burlington; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ed on April 2, 2021; one son, James; two brothers: Dean and Melburn Haas; and six sisters: Vilus Hanson, Joyce Haas, Alice Haas, Ruth Dupe, Pat Koltis and Ethel Gessner.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp. Rev. Stanislaus Michael Antony will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the church, on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Johnson, George M. (15 May 1969 - 22 May 2023)

George M. Johnson, age 54, of Marshfield, passed away after a long illness on Monday, May 22, 2023, at his home.

George was born on May 15, 1969, the son of Lowell D. and Christine M. (Nelson) Johnson in the Berwyn, IL. He was a graduate of Gilman High School. He worked for Phillips Plastics in Medford and then the City of Medford and recently was a caregiver for his mother and nieces and nephews.

George enjoyed drinking coffee and spending time with his friends and family. He loved and cherished his family and will be greatly missed.

George is survived by his brother: Dennis D. (Dixie) Johnson of Titusville, FL, his significant other: Alan Esselman of Marshfield, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Lowell D. Johnson Jr.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 9, 2023, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Interment will follow at Abbotsford Public Cemetery in Abbotsford. Family and friends are welcome from 5:00 p.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.

Neuman, Jack Lyle (3 October 1935 – 29 May 2023) With Flag

Jack L. Neuman, 87, of Batavia, IL, formerly of Loyal, passed away at Northwestern Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL on Monday, May 29, 2023.

Jack Lyle Neuman was born October 3, 1935, in Loyal, WI to Harold L. "Heinie" and Viola E. (Luepke) Neuman. He was raised and received his education in Loyal, graduating from Loyal High School in May 1953. Jack enlisted in the US Marines where he served in Korea from 1953 to 1956. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sgt., and he then enlisted in the US Air Force in April 1958, served in Vietnam, and retired in 1977 with the rank of M.Sgt. Jack spent 15 years in Civil Service in Sacramento, CA, where he traveled the world installing air and ground navigation system programs.

Jack was united in marriage to Judith A. Henrichs on August 1, 1959, in Milwaukee, and she died on April 8, 2007. They had two children who survive; his son, Mark (Sherri), and his daughter, Malinda Nebeker, both of Fairborn, OH. Jack later married Johanna Schmidt in November 2008 in the town of Rome, and currently resides in Batavia, IL.

He is also survived by three grandchildren: Morgan Neuman, Spencer Neuman, and Magdalene Neuman (fiancé Jered Walrath); three great-grandchildren: Lilith, Freya, and Lexington; one sister: Kay Schaefer of Marshfield; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Jack was a life member of the Disabled Veterans of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion, and Life Member of 3rd and 4th Degrees of the Knights of Columbus. Jack graduated from Yuba College in Marysville, CA with a degree in Measurement Science.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Judy; brothers: Jerry, Jan, and Paul; and sisters: Karen Neuman and Jean Grisham.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal. Rev. Emmanuel Famiyeh will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Morgan Neuman, Spencer Neuman, Jered Walrath, Mitch Schlagenhaft, Ken Makela, and Dave Lindgren. Military rites will be conducted by the Loyal American Legion Post #175. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Weiland, Marie M. (4 March 1924 – 29 May 2023)

Marie M. Weiland, 99, of Colby, formerly Spencer was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord while surrounded by her children on Monday, May 29, 2023, at Colby Senior Care under the care of Compassus Hospice.

Marie was born March 4, 1924, in Spencer, the daughter of Anton and Agnes (Joswiak) Loos. She attended Harding public grade school in the Town of Brighton and graduated from Unity High School. Marie was united in marriage to Emil Weiland on June 10, 1941, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Spencer. They shared 63 years of marriage together until his death in 2004.

The couple raised four children and farmed in rural Spencer for 33 years. After moving to Spencer, she served as secretary for the Spencer Senior Citizens Group. Marie worked seasonally at Figi’s upon retirement from farming. She was a devoted member of Christ the King Catholic Church, she enjoyed singing in the church choir, was a member of the PCCW and served two terms as President for the PCCW. She was also an election poll worker for many years.

Her hobbies included playing cards, gardening, sewing, embroidery, crocheting and cross stitching. Marie enjoyed traveling, especially her trip to the Holy Land in 1987 and to our nation’s capital, Washington D.C. One of her favorite past times was spending time with her grandchildren; great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Marie is survived by her four children: Charles (Kathy) Weiland of Spencer, Sarah (Jeffery) Eibergen of Chili and Genevieve (Dennis) Hohlfelder of Salem Springs; her daughter-in-law, Lynn Weiland of Eagle River; two sisters: Adeline Fait of Mosinee and Victoria Groff of Amery; three sisters-in-law: Arlene Weiland, Lorraine Weiland and Elnora Landwehr. Marie is further survived by 19 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 37 great-great grandchildren and special friends, Maggie Newmeyer and Lyn O’Shasky.

She is preceded in death by parents Anton and Agnes; her husband, Emil Weiland; son, Ronald Weiland; daughter, Shirley Kaiser; granddaughter, Jolie Nisbet; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Marie Kaiser; brothers, John and James Loss and sister, Irene Fellenz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Spencer. The Rev. D. Joseph Redfern will officiate. Burial will follow in West Spencer Cemetery in the Town of Sherman, Clark County. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday at the church from 9 A.M. until the time of service. The honor of pallbearer belongs to Marie’s grandchildren: Eric and Erin Strey, Christopher Weiland, Tadd Hohlfelder, Kevin and Kerry Kaiser, Daniel Weiland and Thomas LaClaire. Arrangements by Life Tributes Funeral Home and Cremation Service-Spencer.
