York Center (11 November 1910)

 

Art Garvin and Jos. McMahon took a load of chickens to Neillsville Sat.

 

Lee Palmer and lady friend attended services at the M. E. Church Sunday.

 

Morris and Knute Turner, Joe McMahon and Harry Bowman left Wednesday for Globe where they will spend a few weeks hunting deer.

 

Bert Dean spent Sunday with S. Bolton and family.

 

Reinhold Voight and sister spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Gullick.

 

A crowd of young folks gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Benedict Saturday evening, and all reported a fine time.

 

The annual meetings conducted by Rev. Kildow and Miss Warnington, at M. E. Church have been well attended.

 

Horace Vandeberg informs us that he is doing better.  This being the second Sunday missed from calling on Neillsville friends.

 

Chas Palmer is busy nowadays moving household goods for Mrs. Al Turner.

 

Geo. Mortimer makes his usual calls on Main Street No. 2.

 

S. A. Adams and Ed Southwick have erected a fine granary for Fay Livingston, where he intends to keep his seed barley.

 

Jess Mortimer while returning from Neillsville Tuesday had the pleasure of seeing his team run away.  He was riding with John Vandeberg and when Mr. Vandeberg turned into his yard, Jesse’s team went on and before they could catch them they were beyond his reach. The team went home, but luckily no damage was done.

 

Bert Gullick was seen riding on a load of hay this week.

 

Rella Benedict and Miss Sadie Palmer drove through York Center Sunday afternoon.

 

R. Free is making his barn more convenient by putting in a manure carrier.  Sid will now be able to look on.

 

Wm. Rogers transacted business at Neillsville this week.
