Chili (17 February 1911)

Harry Eide received another car of hay Wednesday which was sold out at once.

L. A. Reichert bought the 40 acres of land sold at sheriff’s sale Tuesday at Neillsville.  He may sell it again if a chance offers.

Go to Degener and get a 12 quart galvanized pail for 15c.

The snow is going fast and hauling by sleighs will be gone in a few days unless colder weather sets in.

The Masquerade dance Saturday drew an unusually large crowd.  72 numbe3rs were sold; about 50 couples were masked.

A second hand piano for sale; same is in good condition; inquire of A. Degener.

It sometimes happens that a person makes a statement which upon closer examination proves to be wrong.  So it happened with the statement made in the Chili items about a month ago.  The person who jumped from the caboose at Yolo was not from Heathville, but it seems that he lives just one mile south east of Yolo. It is hard to withdraw a statement, but it is honest.  As for the other part of that item of a month ago, it seems that somebody drew a wrong conclusion and got himself into an unnecessary state of excitement, for an entirely different class of people was meant.  Although considering the circumstances the feelings on this side of the line were not hurt, it is always better to set things right and keep cool.

Quite a number from here got in touch with Dr. Till lately, hoping for relief of physical troubles.
