Wilcenski, Genevieve (21 JUN 1958)

Miss Genevieve Wilcenski, daughter of Frank Wilcenski of Gilman, became the bride of Joseph Lewien, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Lewien of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), Saturday 10 a.m. in SS Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church at Gilman.  The Rev. John Dzurko performed the ceremony.

Pure silk organza and Italian rosepoint lace over duchess satin fashioned the chapel length bridal gown.  The bodice was styled with a semi-scoop scalloped neckline, trimmed with lace medallions, and long tapered sleeves.   The Grecian gathered and draped skirt with lace insets extended into a sweep train.  Mother of pearl drops and sequins detailed the scalloped crown which held her fingertip veil of pure silk illusion.  She carried an orchid on a white prayer book.  The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Attending the bride were Mrs. Adeline Beck, sister of the bride, as matron of honor, and Rosie Tio, Kathleen Wilcenski, Joan Wilcenski and Clementine Stokosa, as bridesmaids.  All were attired in gowns of blue embroidered white nylon taffeta, fashioned with scoop neckline, puff sleeves and taffeta sashes.  They carried baskets of pink, white and blue daisies.

Edward Lato was best man.  Others attending the groom were Norman Wilcenski, Steve Lewien, Joe Kubiak, Chet Kosik and Ray Wilcenski, brother of the bride.

The reception was held in St. Hedwig’s Hall at Thorp.

Mr. and Mrs. Lewien will make their home on the groom’s farm near Thorp.
