Fred Davis was 47 years old last Monday - Pardon, we meant to say 74 years - and on this occasion the W.S. Davis household arranged for him a stag party by inviting about 25 of his friends to meet and spend the evening with him.  Fred was taken completely by surprise and it took him about ten minutes to realize what that entire rumpus was about.  Fred is apt to get nervous on such occasions and it was probably the cause for his not having very good luck in the fame of Euchre, and it also accounts for his paying 2c above market price for calves the next day.  The evening was whiled away very pleasantly by all present and after partaking of a dainty lunch prepared by Mrs. W. S. Davis the guests wended their homeward way, wishing Fred many returns of the occasion. He as presented with a box of Old Crows and a bottle of William Penn.
