Colburn, Elias H. (13 FEB 1876 - 20 JUL 1958)

Elias H. Colburn, 82, Stanley, died Sunday at Victory Hospital in Stanley.

Mr. Colburn was born in Storm Lake, Iowa on Feb. 13, 1876, the son of Charles H. and Mary Colburn.  He was married to Anna Cloke in 1897 in Cadott, and they lived in the Huron and Ruby areas where he did carpenter and woodwork.  In 1929 they moved to Stanley and in later years he retired.

Surviving are his wife, Anna; two sons, Robert of Minneapolis and Charles of Stanley; Mrs. Ralph Peters, Sturdevant, Wis.; Mrs. James Robinson, Heafford Junction; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Merritt of San Diego, Calif.; and one sister, Mrs. Everett Stallop, Gilmore City, Iowa.

Mr. Colburn was a member of the Stanley Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 at the Methodist Church in Stanley, with the Rev. Cecil Ward officiating.  Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
